Popular Internet TV will shoot one of the series in Granada. It is a Spanish production called El tiempo que te doy, which literally means The time that I give you. The series is to be broadcast next year. It tells the story of a young girl named Lina who tries to start her new life after breaking up with her partner. Lina also struggles with the daily difficulties of changing her place of residence and work. As a part of the recovering process, she decides that when she thinks about her ex-partner, she will do it one minute less every day.

For this project, Netflix cameras were installed in such popular places of Granada as the famous and favorite street in the city center Carrera del Darro, the Albaicin district, as well as the well-known Bib Rambla Square or the former Arabic bazaar Alcaiceria.

What is new is the format of the series itself. It will be broadcast in 10 episodes, each 10-minute long. In this way, the whole thing will last 1h 40m, which is more or less the same as a regular film. This is quite a novel idea when it comes to the show. It is intended to make it easier to watch, especially for those who decide to watch all episodes at once.

Netflix is enthusiastic about the project as a drive to set new standards, also targeting Spanish productions: “We hope to continue to spread Spanish fiction as a global benchmark,” admits Diego Ávalos, vice president of Netflix, Spain.

The city of Granada and the Alhambra served as the scenery for famous Spanish productions such as Isabel (biographical series about Queen Isabella of Castile), Carlos V (biographical series about the grandson of Isabella of Castile). You can read the reviews here and here. El Principe is another example, albeit with a slightly more contemporary theme. Find out more about this crime series here.

The city of Granada can also be admired in foreign productions. like the Korean futuristic series Memorias de Alhambra (transl. Memorias de Alhambra), also produced by Netflix. You can read the review here.

I recommend all these series for long winter evenings!
